Temple Heath Sciences Center came to Mancino looking to update their Rec Center at the Health Sciences Center. It originally was a combination of wall padding that was put up over the years, and they were looking for consistency with a Philly-flare. Mancino's design team created a large-scale Philadelphia skyline that would span the entire wall of the basketball court. Comcast Center, Liberty One and City Hall join the Cira Center in University City while the Temple Owl logo soars to the right.
The Health Sciences Center had numerous custom work pieces including column padding with custom graphics, a padded staircase frame with specially-designed Health Sciences Center logo as well as large owl eyes encompassing another wall.
Wall Padding is a 2-inch thick low smoke polychloroprene compound foam filler with a density of 6-lb/ cu. ft. laminated to a 7/16-inch SFI® certified responsible urea formaldehyde free recycled composite wood backer board, and covered in a 16 -oz. / sq. yd. vinyl coated polyester, CPSIA - 6P and lead compliant. This product achieved a Class “A” fire retardant rating under ASTM E-84.
Typical indoor wall panels are 24” wide x 72” high. Outdoor stadium padding is 48” wide x 96” high. However, all dimensions can be easily customized to t the unique needs of your facility.
